Four almost-extinct animals in Madagascar are the Silky sifaka, Perrier's sifaka, bamboo lemur, and the black-and-white ruffed lemur. Four almost-extinct plants are the Madagascar Rosy Periwinkle, the Travellers Palm, Tahina Spectabilis, and the baobab tree. The reason why these animals and plants are endangered is because it is estimated that 90% of Madagascar’s forests have been destroyed due to the slash-and-burn technique.
